Unemployment is rising, yet the ability for employers to find the right candidates to fill their vacancies can be very difficult and time consuming, especially for small businesses. To address this problem, the government has launched a major initiative called Work Programme to help people who are unemployed get back into sustainable work.
First College are working in conjunction with Jobcentre Plus and A4e to provide support and services for both the candidate and employer.
For the Candidate, we provide a variety of work – related activities such as work experience and employability training to ensure you are ready for the workplace. We help with CV writing and can provide specific training as required such as Hospitality Units (link to hospitality units), City and Guilds Certificate in Employability and Personal Development Level 1(link to employability units) Health and Safety, Food Safety and Personal Licence courses. We provide a universal service to help with job matching, signposting to help with any housing, debt or money related matters to ensure you are able to get back to work – for the long term.
For the Employer, we will work with you to find the right candidates for your position and will take on much of the administration and paperwork, such as sifting through CV’s and arranging interviews. Once appointed we will provide ongoing support for you to ensure your new employee fits into their new role and can provide additional training and mentoring as required.
This service is FREE of charge.
